What this service is

Insurance by Profession is an independent comparison site. It publishes what named UK insurers and schemes print about their own prices and about the trades they write, and nothing beyond that: it does not recommend an insurer, does not arrange cover, and is not authorised to do either.

How we are paid

Nobody can pay us to appear in this record, and nobody can pay us to move within it. No insurer, broker or scheme pays us for a placement, a position or a link, no link on this site earns a commission, and there is no enquiry form here, so no reader's details are sold to anyone. If any of that ever changes, this page will say who pays us and for what before a penny is taken, and the change will be visible on the page carrying it.

About the figures

Every price is quoted verbatim from the insurer's own published page and carries the date it was read. A printed starting price is the cheapest premium an insurer will advertise, on a stated level of cover and for the lowest risk trade it will write; it is not a quote and your own premium will normally be higher.

No warranty

Prices move. A figure here is true of the page it was read from on the day it was read, and no more than that. Check the insurer's own page before acting on anything you see here.
